Made New FAQ

Questions about Made New

Answers to the questions we hear most. This list will grow as the campaign moves forward.

Giving & the Campaign
What’s the total campaign goal?

We’re asking God for $2.8 million, to be raised over the next three years.

How is the $2.8 million split between the two projects?

About $1.5 million goes toward renewing the Bay Life Kids space, and about $1.05 million goes toward the Worship Center audio/video upgrade. The remaining roughly $256,000 is a 10% contingency built into the total, so the project stays fully funded even if costs shift along the way.

Will the church go into debt for this?

No. Everything will be paid for in cash, the same way we’ve approached every major project at Bay Life. We won’t begin a phase of construction until we have the funds in hand to complete it.

What happens if we don’t reach the goal?

We’d rather delay than borrow. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve had to trust God on His timeline — we’d scale back or wait, the way we did with The Lid, one of the most loved spaces on our campus today.

Is this a three-year pledge, like past campaigns?

Yes. Commitments run three years, over and above your regular giving.

Is giving to Made New separate from my regular giving?

Yes — Made New is above and beyond your regular giving to Bay Life.

Can I give something other than cash?

Yes. We accept stock, bonds, cryptocurrency, and cash gifts.

Is there a suggested amount I should give?

No. There’s no fixed dollar ask for anyone. We’re simply asking each person and family to pray and give what they feel led to give.

Why This Project
Do we really need a new sound and video system?

Our sound system has served us well since 2002, and our video systems date back to 2005 and 2012 — but they’ve reached the end of their useful life. Depending on where you sit, sound can be muddy or the screens can wash out under stage lighting. Replacing a few individual speakers or projectors wouldn’t fix the underlying design, which was built for a different room and a different era. We’re investing in a system built to serve this room well for the next decade, not another temporary patch.

Are we trying to make church louder, or put on more of a show?

No. Our goal isn’t volume or spectacle — it’s clarity. The best technology is technology you don’t notice: it just lets you hear the message and see the words on the screen clearly, wherever you’re sitting. That’s what we’re after.

Why the Bay Life Kids space first, before the Worship Center?

That room was our very first Worship Center — never designed to be a kids’ space. Right now, classes meet in open-air spaces with no ceilings, so it’s loud and hard to hear over one another. It’s the more urgent need, and it’s where we’re starting.

Why the Epic Events — Kickoff and Boots & Barbecue?

These events exist to gather people, not to ask for anything. They’re a chance to draw in the friends and family on the edges of our church community — the same way events like these have opened doors for people at Bay Life before.

Getting Involved
How can I get involved beyond giving?

Prayer and presence matter as much as giving. We need people to help host the Epic Events, invite friends, and pray for the project and the people it will reach. Watch for opportunities to serve as the campaign continues.

How will I know how the project and the giving are going?

We’ll share updates through Sunday announcements, email, and social media as construction and giving progress. Check back on this site for the latest.
